vintage...

I'm looking for a dresser so I went to this vintage store. There were some interesting dressers and many many goodies. I didn't buy the dresser yet but got the 3 tiny soldiers.

Wonderful vintage home interiors, photos and cookbooks. Don't forget to explore The Commons.

street poetry...

More photos form my last weekend walks with be. She discovered this narrow alley where all sorts of "brick art" was exposed. I really liked this poem. You can click on the photos to see them bigger.

transports excetionnels...

The Festival Transamérique presented the fabulous Transports exceptionnels by Beau Geste Company. Danced by Philippe Priasso and a mechanical shovel (operated by William Defresne) on the powerful and moving voice of Maria Callas, a love/hate relationship unfolds before us. I was "transported" by the fragility, danger, strenght, commitment, beauty of this unique performance. If it goes to a park near you, I highly recommand it!

I got a bit carried away taking photos. You can see more of them here.

Wishing you a happy weekend!

corner view: cityscape...

The idea was to go on the highest point of the city. Well I went to the lowest... Old Montreal. It was part of my weekend sightseeing.

More links to cityscape here.

visit...

I had a very busy and fun weekend. My friend be from Sweeden came for 4 days (she's now in New York, lucky her!) and we visited Montreal. We walked a lot and took tons of photos that I will show during the next days.

These are random shots from last Friday. We ended our long walk in Chinatown. This man is making Dragon Beard Candy from hair like strands of sugar wrapped around nuts and coconut. Everything was covered in powder sugar! And it was delicious!!!

One day later, the week word is home and here are some details...

Great interpretations of the week word: Alexandra, Cecilia, Aimee, Jenna, Fruenswerk, Andrea, Esti, Kristi, Sandra, Aris, Thereza and Lea.

almost done...

I'm almost done with my museums gigs. I'm happy and sad at the same time. I was working with a great team and I learned a lot from them! I will miss our silly lunch breaks and the absurd humor of my office mate. I hope I will have the chance to visit the museums soon. They're all far from Montreal, a 6 hours drive for the farthest.

Everyday I was walking by this blue graffiti. Since I took the photo, it got badly covered with white paint. Spring cleaning I guess...

Two magnificent post by BibliOdyssey and Le divan fumoir bohémien.

corner view: café à Montréal...

This week I had time to participate to corner view, sipping my café under a flowered tree.

We ask for "deux café avec du lait s'il-vous-plait" and there are many different ways to drink café here: expresso, latté, american, iced... When I have my café in Little Italy, like on these photos or here, I have a cappuccino. But at home I prefere a café au lait (latté.) Right now, I'm having an expresso allongé, mild black expresso, cause I forgot to buy milk. Arghh!

You can find more corner views here.

holga, part two...

Two more holga photos. Those were taken inside and the light wasn't good enough. Plus, I forgot to advance the film on the second one, so I have two shots on the same photo. Ha! It's this kind of accident that I like experimenting with holga.

Superb work from Emmanuel Polanco (via the Lumper). I especially like these.

holga...

I had that 120 film for a while but was waiting for nicer weather to use it. I'm glad I was patient. I'm pretty happy with the results, color wise I mean. You can see more of my holga photos here and here.

Kerry
experimented a great technique that I intend to try very soon.

polaroid, the end...

So here are my two last polaroids ever. I'm a bit sad. But I think my camera was kind of broken, it was very unstable. I simple breeze would trigger the button. I couldn't bring it anywhere with me but around the house. At least, this last session made me want to do more analog photos. Stay tuned for that. Meantime, if you wish to see a bit more polaroid of mine, you can here.

The weekend is here and I have 3 days off! Yay! Wishing you a beautiful one!

polaroid 1...

These are probably my last polaroid photos. The films are becoming way too expensive. Unless there's a miracle...

The first photo is of my favorite tree. I'll post my two very last polaroids very soon.

le roi du smoke meat...

I went to the camera store yesterday and made a stop at Le roi du smoke meat (King of Smoke Meat), a Montreal secret landmark. Travel guides will send you at Schwartz's, which is a great place too, but le roi is off the beaten tourist path. Don't be fooled by the photo, the place was filled by local customers. Here's the address.

red...

I'm having a restful and rainy weekend. Watched Some episodes of Carnivàle. Have you seen this series?

I love the strokes and colors of Guy Denning's paintings.

magnolia, the end...

I know, more magnolias. But I couldn't resist!

I found the new Evol project on Wooster Collective. You know how is it. You surf the net, see beautiful art, amusing art, bad art, well-done-but-not-for-you art, more beautiful art and sometimes you find art that for some reasons talks directly to you. Well it's the case with this project. I downloaded the catalog and look at it everyday.
