virginia...

I'm going away to Virginia, USA, again. I will be back in about one week. This is a very welcome break from work.

I leave you with a holga shot I took in London a few years ago. You can see more holgas from my London trip here. I miss London!

And for inspiration links, just visit Camila's post. She sure knows how to get inspired. And don't miss Alexandra's sunday posts on Art as business. I'll make sure I read it when I come back.

I wish you a very good weekend and week!

copyrights...

There's been a lot of talk on the web lately about copyrights infringement. The Laureen Nassef story was very disturbing and led to this very instructive post by Book by its cover. Thereza has a interesting thoughts on the subject too.

Well I thought I would share a very famous local story that ended well yesterday. Claude Robinson has been battling a big cartoon corporation for using one of his characters and stories. His battle lasted 14 years! You can read the story here.

It will only take you a few minutes to read it but I've been following this case since the beginning and I can tell you that this guy was extremely tenacious and courageous. He lost everything along the way. I am so happy for him.

early...

I really like making jam and have a taste of summer all winter long. But I had a bit too much work lately and I missed the raspberries season. I promised myself that I would not miss the blueberries too. So I went to the market yesterday to get some and woke up early this morning to cook them. This is the left over jar that we will eat soon. Since I was already cooking, I also made a roasted eggplant and red bell peppers spread.

Seen on different blogs lately: but does it float? I don't know if it floats but it's very inspiring!

Going back to work now... Have a good middle of the week!

coucou...

Jut a little coucou (hello) to say that I am still around, visiting blogs and working a lot.

In order to put my photoshop brain cells in gear this morning, I played around with this photo. Now that my brain and software are warmed up, I have to go back to work. Yep on a Saturday morning. Luckilly, I have a garden party this afternoon so I will have some time off. Yay!

I leave you with two artists that I admire very much. I posted these links in my early blogging days, when no one read them. So I'm doing it again:

Dave Foldvari that I discovered on Myspace a few years ago.

And Sophie Jodoin, probably my favorite painter alive. She also was one of my teachers. I was very happy to see her work in this month's Ruby Mag.

I hope you will enjoy their powerful work.

Going away again for a few more days. Will be back soon. Cheers!

more markets...

A visit to the new Marché Duluth in Montreal and The Ottawa Byward Market (last photo). I never get tired of farmers markets...

Anna went to Barcelona. It felt like I was there too.

holga...

These are the last photos of my Holga film. The ones in my last post were Holga photos too. You guessed it right Lea!

Ok so I learned that the deers that some of you like so much are used as target practice. I guess that's why they look a bit sad.

Off to Ottawa for the day. Have a good one!

marché...

I took these at the beginning of the summer when flowers were still sold at the market. Now the flowers have been replaced by fresh fruits and veggies.

To answer your question Alexandra, the deers were not art. I think they were on their way to the garbage dump. They were almost life size. One would need a big living room to fit them both.

A few years ago I did wrote a paper on the London Tube map designed by Harry Beck. I fell in love with it. I love the ingenuity and simplicity of it. Since that paper, I have a new respect for these kind of maps and signage. Recently I stumbled upon these World's Most Impressive Subway Maps. I was surprise to find Montreal's metro map there. I must say, it's kind of unique. You can also find the World's Greatest Subways on the same site. I wasn't surprise to find that Montreal's metro was absent from this list. It's quite dull.

last...

Some Holga photos of Bullrun. These are the last photos from my little trip.
I never found a spot to place the last digital photo, so here it is, a bit out of place... according to my posting logic :)

Anairam asked about s'mores. So here is just for you, s'mores: the musical! Enjoy your s'mores!
