signs...

I wish I could read while traveling by car but it makes me nauseous. And because I don't drive, I have a lot of time on my hands, especially during a 12 hours trip. So I take photos and photos and photos... and I sing and snack all the time... What do you do during long car trips?

This is like huh... you know, like huh... a totally amazing poem kind of... you know...

last...

The last of the farm series.

Gorgeous paintings by Cesar Biojo - found via the Lumper who has some tales to tell.
Biojo's paintings reminded me of Guy Denning.

old paint...

The buildings of this farm need a good paint job. I'm glad I was there before though.

Does any of you have an issue of Annalemma magazine? It looks very interesting! - found via Lauren Nassef.

Wishing you a very good week!

cabbage...

Oh what a week! The car is fixed now, no short term problems expected (fingers crossed). Thank you for your kind words. I agree, walking is the best way of locomotion but a car can become handy at times. Like when you have a bad back pain as I did the last few days. I'm doing much better now and was able to go through some of the photos I took the past month.

These are from a trip we took at a farm not too far from here. I know those ornamental leaves are not cabbage but I'm pretty sure they are from the same family. They seem to become more and more popular here. Do you know what they are?

Lovely paintings by Jennifer Harrison - found via the jealous curator.

back...

I'm back... finally! We had serious car problems that held us away for a few more days than expected. The problems happened on Monday. Everyday they would tell us that the car would be ready the day after but the day after turned into the next day after. So we finally left Friday afternoon and only arrived home Saturday morning, exhausted! I lost a few days of work so I will have to make it up this coming week. I'll probably be away from blogging again a few more days. I'll be visiting though.

Wishing you a perfect week and a perfect car, bike or commuting system!

morning glory...

I'm always amazed to see flowers and trees growing on concrete...

I wanted to do a second follow up on the responses I got from my question on blogging but I'm running late for work. But if you haven't read them, go take a look here and here. You all had very interesting points of view.

Now this video made my day. Not all clients are like that but... I can so much relate to this!!!
Thank you Thereza for the link!

Ok, off to work now. Chop-chop!

gray sunday...

It's been raining for 8 days straight! Darkness is really getting old now. Good day to do some cooking and reading and looking at John Kenn's drawings though... - found again via Michael Nobbs, he really finds great links!

on blogging 2...

Thank you so much to have taken the time to answer my little question. I wasn't expecting such generous responses.

All in all, it seems that for most of us, it started as an experiment and a way to show our work or at least to have a place to store it and look at it, instead of using a mirror :)

Then many of us got addicted. The inspiration we find in other blogs is a good fuel for our own creativity. The conversations and support has also became an important part of blogging.

Because I work at home most of the time, I see it a bit like the break around the coffee machine... sometimes a long break. That's when the boss is out! And because I'm a lazy painter and that I don't really have a place to do it, photography has become my principal way of expression. Feeding my blog forces me to do it on a regular basis.

Irene, it was very nice of you to drop by. I'm discovering a new beautiful blog.

Kerry, a simple showcase with no stress, I totally agree!

Line, je suis bien contente d'avoir fait ta connaissance. Tu es la première québécoise dont je suis le blog assidument.

Alexandra, you didn't come back but you answered my question here. - go visit, she has a giveaway!

Anairam, you surely make me see things through a different lens!

Olivia, even if you blogged only once a month I would visit!

Sofamenthol, quel joli nom! et quel joli blog ! Ridicule et mièvre? je ne pense pas. Vraie? fort probablement.

P.K., I think that not everything needs o have a specific purpose... wanderings lead to great discoveries.

Trinsch, if I moved to the country, I probably would view blogging the way you did. Yes, the community is huge, almost infinite!

Par3rgOn, I'm not linking. I understand. I really admire you integrity... and your fabulous art ;)

Laurie, yes, conversations are sometimes hard to maintain. I try hard but sometimes fail...

Aris, your mirror thing cracked me up. Hurray for technology! :) How can we not comment on your wonderful drawings!

Gracia, a post from you is like very good chocolate. One has to savour it for a few days before having a new one.

L'Atelier, thank you :) Obviously, I'm not the good person to talk about online shops. I only know it takes a lot of marketing efforts. But you could give it a try. It doesn't cost too much and can become very rewarding.

Okay, time to go to the market now... in the rain. Have a very good Saturday!

treasure...

The week word is treasure. Well one of my treasures is this simple button box. It belonged to my grand mother who used to work as a hat maker. When she moved from her big house, she parted with lots of things. My mom, who was probably the most crafty person of the family, took the button box and tons of ribbons, lace, feathers... I was around 5 years old back then and we used most of these treasures for Halloween costumes, decoration, etc. I still have some of the ribbons and lace and even a few feathers... and the box where vintage buttons get acquainted with newer ones and where a 1830 virgin Marie found a home.

L'atelier choose the week word and you can find links to other interpretation of the word on her blog.

Thank you so much for your very interesting answers about blogging! I will do a wrap up on the subject tomorrow.

Wishing you a happy weekend!
