off...

Big weekend ahead to finish yet another pitch and some work for a client before I leave Monday for Virginia. I haven't been there for a while and I'm very excited about the week ahead. We'll be staying here. So I wish you a very happy weekend and week. I'll see you soon!

weird...

I don't have a lot of work these days which made today kind of weird. I surfed and worked, then surfed again and worked. I feel I've done nothing but yet, I'm still on time with my work load. I even had time to work on a fake book cover.

Speaking of work, we didn't get the last pitch I was working on. I'm more disappointed this time. It would have been an interesting project. The letter we got was very nice though and they really seemed sorry not to work with us (our fees were too high and we knew it from the start).

But Tim and I updated our castle cat studio shop with lots of new items like the flower up there. If you haven't been there for a while, please visit. We don't post on our blog as much as we would like, but you can find some interesting there.

And while surfing today, I stumbled upon this crazy page. If someone has an explanation, please let me know! - via Dear Ada

park jarry...

Coming back from the library, I crossed Jarry Park. There was more snow there and some crazy people were enjoying it by kite snowboarding or just relaxing under a tree as if it was a sunny summer day. I guess it's a good way to make the best out of winter.

dirt...

Snap shots taken last week on my way to the library. The new snow cleaned all this dirt. Yay! For more colorful photos, visit our Castle Cat blog. Your eyes will be filled!

I'm having a very cozy weekend. Made some chocolate and coconut treats and a bread is now raising. I also made a couple of notebooks that I will show you soon. Now I should fill them!

What are you doing this weekend?

postman again...

You know how we often say "I never win anything." Well this is usually my case. Except this time. Anairam had a giveaway recently and I won! I won this lovely three roses necklace. And it traveled from South Africa to Canada, from summer to winter. Isn't it crazy?

Speaking of winter, it's the second day in a row that we have snow. Finally! Better late then never I guess. I'm not a big fan of winter, but I prefer when there is snow. At least it's clean and white instead of dirty and grey.

shipping...

I love those old painted signs, memories of another time. Now can someone ship me to the country!

And I love Jim Jarmusch. Enjoyed his Down by law so much! He has some interesting thoughts on creativity. He sure brought his thievery far enough.

postman...

I find these little birds from Kristina of Inaluxe to be irresistible. Her shop is filled with wonderful goodies. And of course, look who's in the shot again. He's getting old, but he still needs a lot of attention. Sitting on my lap as I write this.

tag...

I was tagged by Valérie to list 10 things that make me happy. So here we go (not necessarily in this order)

1. cat
2. spring
3. cup of coffee
4. good book
5. good play
6. good company
7. spring
8. huge snow storm
9. time off
10. spring...

Can you see that I'm waiting for spring impatiently? What makes you happy?

The heart was shot in front of Tah Dah boutique/gallery that recently opened at the market I always go too. It's nice to have such a place in our neighborhood. Joyeuse Saint-Valentin !

about orchids...

We were supposed to go ice fishing this morning but it was too cold for some members of our party. So here I am again with inside shots. This is my other orchid in bloom. I had a couple of comments asking about orchids care. Well the trick is to not take care of them too much.

Orchids are epiphyte plants which means they grow on other plants and take their nourishment from the air. They only need humidity. I water mine once a week like normal plants and I placed them near a window. I got the first one for my birthday a long time ago and I never changed its pot. Really easy care. They bloom from January to May.

out...

I have to get out! I realize that the photos in my last posts were all taken at home. It's not that I don't go outside at all, I just don't take photos. While it is snowing everywhere in the world, here we're having a rather dry winter so all is grey and dirty. Not much inspiration out there. More of the reason to try harder I guess.

scrap...

Hello! I've been away from blogging a little. Sometimes I just get tired of the computer all together. It's seems I don't even know what to do with it except use it for work.

Speaking of which, remember the pitch we worked on about a month ago. Well we didn't get it. Ah well, maybe it's for the best. The project is already three weeks behind and in our field, every day counts. As for last week's live pitch, we were selected to go to the second round, the written pitch. We worked on the budget all day yesterday and will continue today. A real puzzle but a very good exercise. So my fingers and toes are crossed again!

notebook...

This is a small notebook I made from a used sheet of craft paper. I started to make some lino printing, but instead of using lino, I use these soft rubber blocks which is a lot easier to work with. I guess I have to call them rubber stamps. I love making notebooks, but I don't use them fast enough so they pile up on a shelf in some kind of collection...

Kerry has gorgeous notebooks too!

baker's man...

Someone is starting to master the art of baking cakes big time. His cakes are better than mine! This one is a very moist spice cake with apple sauce and raisins. MMMMM!!! - found in The Joy of Cooking. Every cake I ever tried from that book is delicious!
