stone wall...
I first saw this house on Le Divan Fumoir Bohémien. I can't believe I never saw it before I visited Florizel's blog.

McAllister...
Hello! I'm always amazed to see how time flies. I hardy find time to blog these days. I took these photos two weeks ago in the Old Port of Montreal. The tugboat Daniel McAllister has been in the Old Port for many year. It was restored recently. You can see how beat up it looked before here, here and here.

bananas...
This cookbook belonged to my mother (love the illustration) and you can see by its beaten look that this recipe has been made a lot of times. Actually, it's probably the first cake I ever made from scratch. Okay, it's in French, but I'm sure Google translate will help you :) Forget the gum drops, I never used them. I don't always put orange zest either. Bon appétit!
Single Fare, such a cool project!

the moon...
Like many people, I spent part of the night outside waiting for then admiring the moon. It was great but a bit cold after a while. After all, spring is only today. And we are expecting another snow storm tomorrow! Yikes! It makes me think of this backwards movie.
About those bell towers: Montreal is called the city with the thousand bell towers. It must be true. As you can see, from my balcony, weather I look south or north, there is one adorning the horizon.

desktop of the month...

So this is the first edition of Desk Top of the Month. The other participants are Anairam, P.K. and Sophie Munns (maybe).
Robert, la répétition peut s'avérer intéressante.
Sarapirat, to take a screen shot of your mac, you have to push the Command (apple), Shift and 3 (yes number 3) keys at the same time. Here is a link that explains it.
If you wish to participate in this you still can post a comment here and I will ink to your page later on this week.

labrador tea and desktop...
These leaves are Labrador tea. They grow up north in peat bog. When infused or chewed, they are reputed to cure light headaches. I drink labrador tea because I like its fresh resinous taste.
Now on this post, I suggested to have a "desktop of the month" kind of project and the respond was pretty good. So I have been thinking about it and here is how I see it. Once a month, on the 15th, we post a screen shot of our computer desktop. And in order to have a bit of diversity, it could also be a photo of our physical desktop. But only the desktop, not a shot of the room it sits in or of the walls around it, just the desktop.
If you are interested in participating, just leave a comment here and I will link to your page. Looking forward to see how messing or tidy you are!

on walks...

These photos as well a the one from yesterday's post were taken close to my work place. I wish I had more time to snoop around that neighborhood. Maybe next summer...
I had lots of positive answers about that little "desktop of the month" project. Thank you! Now stay tuned, next Saturday I will come up with some kind of guides for the project.
K, with whom I work, found this superb vintage photos site. Fortepan.
Okay, speaking of work, time to go! Have a good day!

3 mail boxes...
Desktops from creative people. What's on you desktop?
If I was to start a little project called "desktop of the month", would you participate? All you would have to do is post a screen shot of your desktop on a given date. I would take care of the details. Tell me what you think.

orange and pink...
I don't know what came upon me to buy such loud colored yarn. I probably need warm colors to beat the winter blues (or should I say grays). So the project ended up into much needed pot holders.
They say it's going to rain all weekend and then turn into 10 to 15 cm of snow.

It's the end of the week. Time to slow down. Wishing you a great weekend.
You HAVE to see Brian Dettmer's insane and beautiful work. It left me floored, thinking "cut cut cut cut...."

details...
If I didn't have to go to work everyday, I think I would have a real bad case of cabin fever. Yesterday, we had snow, ice rain, rain and snow again. Today, it's -10˙C. As I write, I can here cars spinning on ice outside. Good thing I take the metro... Looking forward to kick off my boots and start wearing shoes again!
Such a beautiful project, Opportunities by Corinne Vionnet
